Returns & Warranty
As I deal exclusively in preloved, often vintage, designer furniture, my returns and warranty policy reflects the unique nature of these investment pieces. I strive for 100% transparency regarding the condition before purchase.
1. Condition of Goods & Transparency (Final Sale Focus)
As-Is Purchase: All items sold by Opulent Seating are preloved and sold in their documented condition ("as-is"). The price reflects the item's age, provenance, and condition, including any expected signs of wear, minor marks, or patina.
Prior Inspection: Detailed descriptions, and extensive photography are provided on every product listing. It is the buyer's responsibility to review these details thoroughly before purchasing.
Added Transparency & Reassurance: For your complete confidence, I am happy to provide additional high-resolution photos or video footage of any specific area, imperfection, or feature of your requested piece. Please contact me before purchasing to request this service or any further clarification.
2. General Returns Policy (Distance Selling)
As a UK seller, I comply with Distance Selling Regulations.
7-Day Notification: If you purchase an item online without prior in-person inspection, you have the legal right to cancel your order for any reason.
Notification Period: You must notify us in writing (via email) of your intent to cancel within 14 calendar days of the date the item was delivered to you.
Return Period: Once you have notified us, the item must be returned to our premises within a further 14 calendar days.
The 14-day return right does not apply to:
In-Person Purchases: Items viewed or collected in person prior to payment.
Bespoke Orders: Items that have been professionally reupholstered or modified at the buyer's request.
B2B Sales: Orders placed by businesses (e.g., interior designers, property stagers, or commercial entities).
Return Condition: The item must be returned in the exact same condition as it was when it was dispatched. Any new damage, modification, or deterioration will result in the refusal of the return and/or forfeiture of the refund.
Return Shipping: The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for the safe return of the furniture. Due to the value and size of the items, I strongly advise using a specialist courier and ensuring the item is fully insured during transit. The item must be returned to my premises within 14 calendar days of the notice of cancellation.
Refund: Upon satisfactory inspection of the returned item, a refund will be processed for the item's purchase price only. Original delivery fees, return shipping costs, and packaging fees are non-refundable.
3. Collections and In-Person Viewings
Final Sale: Items that are collected in person or viewed in person prior to shipping/collection are considered Final Sale. By taking possession of the item, you confirm satisfaction with its condition, and no returns will be accepted thereafter.
How to Arrange a Return
To ensure your item is tracked and handled with care, we operate a managed returns process:
Notification: Please contact us at OpulentSeating@hotmail.com 14 days of receipt to notify us of your intent to return.
Authorisation: We will provide you with a Return Authorisation and the specific delivery instructions for our receiving point.
Transit: Please do not send items to our registered virtual office address, as they cannot accept large furniture deliveries. Returns must be sent directly to our designated facility using the details provided during authorisation.
4. Warranty & Guarantee
No Warranty Implied: Given the preloved nature and age of the iconic pieces I sell, Opulent Seating does not provide any warranty or guarantee regarding the future structural integrity, upholstery, or operational lifespan of the furniture.
Designer Quality: You are purchasing the enduring quality and design legacy of the original designer (e.g., Herman Miller, Roche Bobois), but the purchase is solely based on the item's current, documented condition.
